05 March 2009 - MakeHuman 1.0 pre-alpha released

MakeHuman has been in development for what seems like an eternity. But now all the work being put into it has now been released publicly for all to try out.

MakeHuman is similar to Poser where it allows you to create realistic human models and pose them. These can be rendered as is or exported to another 3D program to be used in a 3D scene, for instance creating 3D movies.

This is a pre alpha release though so don't expect the full bells and whistles.

Currently it is missing the posing abilities but does show of the new techniques for creating realistic models based on ethnicity, gender and age.

This version can also use Aqsis, Pixie, Povray to use as it's rendering engine.
