Pingus - Free Lemmings like strategy game with penguins
Pingus is a free puzzle strategy game influenced by the classic Lemmings games.
The main characters in Pingus are penguins. The aim is to get them safely to their igloo. The game is set amongst a series of levels with various objectives which could be a specific percentage of the pingus must make it home safely. You cannot influence the penguins (Pingus) direclty as they move by themselves. Instead you have to give them commands like dig, build bridge, etc.
Graphically Pingus is excellent with nice little effects and touches. There is also a level editor if you manage to get through all the levels which you can share with other players.

Pingus 0.7.2 has been released in time for Halloween
A new release of Pingus (version 0.7.2) has been released. Included with this version are 8 new maps with a Halloween theme.
Apart from various bug fixes other changes include a minimap being added to the editor and scroll wheel support has been added to cycle through the actions more easily.
A new release of Pingus has been released with first support of SDL
A new version ( version 0.7.0) has been released. This version of Pingus is the first to support SDL. SDL is a cross platform library which means software can be ported easily many other platforms including Window, Linux and OS X.
As a result of this Pingus has a Windows release. Only a couple other things of note are anti aliased fonts, PPC and 64 bit support and better support for screens larger than 800x600. A downside is the level editor has been temporarily removed.
