BASIC-256 - Free BASIC language for young children
BASIC-256 (formely KidBASIC) is a free BASIC language aimed at young children.
BASIC-256 has been designed to help give young children an interesting leap into learning how to program computers. To help along the way there are various tutorials grouped in to beginner, intermediate and advanced.
It also has built in graphical functions which is good for children who like to see results of their work visually
Some of the commands available in BASIC-256 are what you would normally expect to find in a BASIC language. These include CLS, CLG, GOTO, GOSUB, IF/THEN and FOR as well as mathematical functions like ABS, CEIL, COS and INT and some rather handy drawing functions like CIRCLE, LINE and PLOT.
BASIC-256 is definitley a good project to keep an eye on.
