Alien Arena is a free open sourced multiplayer online first person shooter. The CRX engine is based on the Quake II engine source code released by ID Software, famous for the Doom and Quake series of games. This does not mean the game looks bad. In fact the

In fact Alien Arena borrows many elements of Quake Arena and Unreal Tournament series of games to make a fast paced online shooter. But the thing that stands out from other games is the great looking 1950's style retro alien look, the film Mars Attacks springs to mind.

Although based on Quake II engine this does not mean it looks bad. In fact it has a whole host of modern looking effects such reflections, realtime shadows, fog and many more.

The game has various game mode the newest mode called Team Core Assault where players work together to disable their enemy team's central metal spider. Kind of similar to Battlefield 2142's Titan mode. But also included are:

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Capture the Flag
  • Deathball,
  • All Out Assault mode( with vehicles)

The latest Alien Arena 2009 has been released

After a long preiod of development and refinement, Cor Entertainment have released Alien Arena 2009

There are some massive changes in this release including better sound and improved visuals. 7 new maps have been added along with two new player and a voice taunt system.

A new release of Alien Arena has been released.

The team behind Alien Arena have released a new version of Alien Arena 2008.

This latest version, 2.10, has had it's graphics massively overhauled with many new effects. Also added are 3 new maps as well as various weapon balances and bug fixes.
