Tremulous is a free and open source FPS with a realtime strategy (RTS) element which has been created using the now free Quake 3 engine.

There are two races to choose from which are the humans and an alien race. The similarities with RTS games is where you can build structures in-game like an RTS. An important structure is the spawn point.
