Xara LX is an open sourced version of the popular Xara Xtreme which has been around for quite sometime. The nice people at Xara decided that Linux needs a flagship graphics application and have stepped up to provide that.

Although Xara LX is not as complete as the commerical version it still has many excellent features and is under constant development.

Xara LX is capable of working with bitmaps as well as vectors. Currently importing and exporting of jpegs and .PNG files are supported.

It is possible to also run Xara LX on Mac OS X but at this time there are not enough developers.
