Intuit, long known for their accounting software, have released a free edition for small businesses just starting out. The idea here is for you to later on upgrade to the more professional versions of Intuit's QuickBooks software.

Although QuickBooks Simple Start does seem massively cut down there are a few useful features to get a small business going. In its basic form it just allows easy creation of invoices, paying bills and printing cheques/checks. The invoices in QuickBooks Simple Start can be either printed or emailed for convenience. The invoices can also be trracked so they can be marked as paid later on.
