Hydrogen is a free drum machine for Linux which allows you quickly and easily program your own looping drum patterns. It behaves very similar to other electronic drum machines , for example found in LMMS or commercial software such as FLStudio and even hardware drum machines.

Hydrogen supports unlimited patterns, many instruments per track with 64 ticks per pattern. Hydrogen also supports JACK for linking to other JACK supported applications. LADSPA plugins are also supported which means you can apply effects to each instrument track in the mixer.

Hydrogen is available for Linux, OS X and Windows although the Windows version is experimental at time of writing.
