Planeshift is a free 3D massively multplayer online role play game set in a fantasy environment. Although the game itself is considered a tech demo it looks absolutely  stunning.

As Planeshift is being advertised as not complete there are still many things to do. Once you have created an account you will be able to enter the world of Planeshift and undertake quests and meet new people online. You can even make your own houses or castles.

As you would expect to find in an RPG of this type, your character can be modified and improved. Planeshift is persistent which means your character data stays on the Planeshift sever.

Planeshift has many features including 12 playable races, hundreds of spells, many quests, unlimited professions and a constantly evolving world.
