Glest - Free 3D realtime strategy game
Glest is a free 3D Realtime Strategy Game with a medieval setting. Currently Glest features two main factions which are Magic and Tech. This is basically as it sounds. The Magic faction uses spells, reature summonings and special buildings. Whereas tech faction relies on medieval style technology such as swords men, archers and cavalry
Glest has many and varied units each unique and with it's own animation and sound effects.
Although the basic download is quite limited there are various mods which can be added. These vary from different maps to complete unit changes.
A multiplayer option is missing which would really make this an outstanding free RTS but the game is activley developed and multiplayer support may well be added in the near future.

Accessability has been the main focus of this release which means the interface has been tidied up and tutorials and new scenarios have been added. Also a new environment called Dark Forest has been added which takes advantage of effects for the latest graphics cards. There are various other features and the usual bug fixes and improvements
Update to Glest RTS game has been released
An update to the great looking RTS game, Glest, has been released. This version, 3.1.1, comes two weeks after the last major release of 3.1 which introduced new maps and game balance changes.
This minor release introduces better looking shadows and a command line interface.
