Aptana, the free leading application for all round web development, has been updated to version 2 with an overhaul of the file transfer system.

Aptana version 2 has been released. Although there are only a few major features the rest is all under the hood stuff so will improve the performance of Aptana going forward.

One of the most useful features to note is the overhaul of the file transfer feature. This has been quite a tedious process in the past but the new layout is much clearer and more usable.

Version 1.5 of Aptana Web Development IDE released

Aptana 1.5 has been released featuring improvements to the usage of memory and its overall performance.

Aptana is a leading free Web development environment featuring support for HTML, CSS, a whole range of javascript toolkits such as prototype and JQuery, support for PHP and Ruby.

Other updates to Aptana 1.5 include a new database explorer, FTP and Synchronization fixes and the Aptana Pro JSON editor has now been included into the free community version.

Aptana Studio 1.0 Released

After over two years in development Aptana Studio 1.0 has been released.

There are now two versions, a pro and a Community Edition. The Community Edition is the free one whilst the pro version offers priority support and a few little extras.
