World of Padman is a free great looking colourful first person shooter using the Quake 3 engine. Padman is the lead character in a comic strip for a Playstation magazine in the late 1990's.

Originally World of Padman was to be a Quake 3 mod but ended up being a standalone game which is good news for the free software world.

There are usual various modes of play and various weapons to pick up. The weapons are the strangest weapons you could 'frag' an opponent with. They are all colourful but quite mean. For example 'The Pumper' shotgun like weapon and the 'Bubble G' which fires small coloured balls very quickly.

There are also several power ups available throughout the levels whihc add some great effects. Like 'Speedy' which makes you go faster but does some strange zoom out effect as you run. Another hillarious powerup is the 'KillerDucks' which when released near an opponent will hunt them and opponents near them. If no one is around they will hunt you instead.
