Stellarium is a free planetarium for your computer. On startup you can enter your physical real world position and time and you can see which objects and constellations will be visible to you.
Stellarium has a massive 600,000 star catalogue with an addon which gives you a catalogue with 210 million stars.
There are many controls available to you with Stellarium. These controls allow you to specifiy what you would like to be displayed. For instance you can show constellation lines or just the starts themselves. You can also allow it to show the labels for planets you may be able to see, such as Mars, Jupiter, etc. The Milky Way is also shown realistically.
